The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a world leader in the study, appreciation and the conservation of birds. In this exclusive bonus clip, artist Todd McGrain, the artist in residence at the lab, explores the lab's massive collection of bird and bird related specimens. At one point he even handles a Passenger Pigeon, one of the birds he memorialized with a sculpture as depicted in The Lost Bird Project documentary.

The Lost Bird Project airs on over 200 public television stations this month. Click here to find a broadcast where you live.

The lab at Cornell is such an amazing resource for artists, scientists, and the general public. I am grateful it is in my neighborhood (so to speak) and I can visit. I also have seen some of the sculptures there.
